andy newbom social fresh bowtieMy name is Andy Newbom. At this time there are less than 10 Newboms in the world. Not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, but it’s a thing.

I’m a former #CoffeeLifer and a Viking

It ain’t easy being a greenie, but that’s where my 15 years of striving for coffee perfection have lead me. I have spent much of those last 14 years working with producers, millers, exporters and importers at origin to improve the quality and profitability of Specialty Coffee throughout the supply chain. My passion and mission is to bring about a quality revolution in Specialty Coffee not by chasing after 90+ point coffee unicorns but by improving coffee quality and yields and market to build a massive market for 83-85 point coffee as the mainstay and deliver sustainable prices throughout the coffee chain. As Director of Coffee for IPCoffees Specialty Imports I built a brand new market for Mexican Specialty Coffee. I was the co-founder of Barefoot Coffee Roasters, Finca Coffees & Brew Revolution Craft Brewery along with his equally coffee obsessed wife Nanelle Newbom & one of the six founders of the BGA. I know that every coffee has a home, but that not every home has a coffee yet.

I’ve done a few things like Coffee, Craft Beer, Social Development, and Snowboard gear, Kickstarter campaigns. I’m varied, intense and opinionated.

I currently write columns for Roast Magazine, Barista MagazineTechnorati SocialMediaToday and Daily Coffee News. I am the author of Coffee Spanish for Coffee Buyers. Buy yours now.

  1. HELP!?!?

First, I am about to trim my beard back to a goatee. Somehow I came across your beard removal video on some media app and got a chuckle from the comic relief. Thanks.

Second, I live near Temecula and see that you are in San Diego. I invented a coffee cup lid and am about to chase down some very exciting business opportunities. I am an engineer trying to develop a business, market and sell. This is where you come in.

Will you meet with me at a coffee shop, perhaps Bird Rock, to see if this is a project to work on together?

    Thank You,
